Case Studies
Building a Vibrant Theater for the Community
Jewish Community Center, Deal, NJ
This magnificent
Jersey Shore collaboration with Matrix Development Group incorporated design details and maximized acoustical clarity in the 500-seat performing arts center. Based on
an "ocean" theme, this design concept reflects the ebb and flow of nature and also mimics the excitement of live performances. As a result, Galina Design
Group used “water” elements throughout the entire venue in the flooring, walls, furniture and lighting. The color palette of different tones and textures
of blue, silver and orange were chosen to create a rhythmic and energized atmosphere.
Functional Office Simplicity
Deal Yeshiva Organization, Ocean Township, NJ.
The 3,000 square foot space was designed with a traditional scholarly look, using mahogany and cherry wood paneling, custom design moldings and millwork, and pendant light fixtures in the reception area. The project requirements included a reception area, conference room, executive office and open space for support staff and kitchen. An oversized custom designed fish tank greets visitors to the reception area for an added peaceful effect. The color palette of dark blues, cream tones with golden accents provides a timeless and classical atmosphere, yet still keeping very sophisticated and stylish approach. The combination of direct and indirect lighting provided a unique and inviting ambience.
Chocolate Decadence
“Le Chocolat” Hand-made Gourmet Chocolate Franchise, Cedarhurst, NY
This 1,000 square feet of retail space was custom designed for product displays, private office, preparation area and an ADA bathroom in the back of the store. The millwork display units were designed in a zig-zag pattern with the ceiling and floor pattern to complete the montage. Special lighting fixtures highlight unique product displays and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patrons. As a result, the design concept is polished and upscale which will be used for other franchise locations. The natural choice of the color palate was of course chocolate: chocolate browns, warm wood tones, black, light blue and golden accents. Customers have been cheering that “…the store even looks delicious!”
Making the Most of Existing Design Resources
Temple Beth El Oakhurst, NJ
Galina Design Group specializes in creating design solutions that are practical and cost efficient, yet achieve aesthetic impact. The renovation project of two 2,000 square foot spaces used existing resources to achieve high design. The ‘Founders Hall’ included the design of a new vestibule, new ceiling design and lighting, modern flooring and wall treatments, moveable partition design and specifications, as well as furniture layout and specifications. The ‘Social Hall’ included the selection of new floor and wall treatments, consultation services for lighting improvement, designing and specifying new window treatments. GDG developed a color palate that is both welcoming to the congregation while being easy to maintain and clean. A ‘Founders Wall’ was designed by using innovative 3-form resin panels and veneered moveable partitions to achieve a timeless yet conservative look. These lasting design elements honor the religious integrity of the congregation while enhancing a sense of community for years to come.
